Privacy policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
This privacy policy applies to Rolesauce (rolesauce.com) (“Rolesauce”, “we”, “us”). It explains what we collect when you use the site or buy Rolesauce Pro, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and what you can do about it. Questions? Email [email protected].
The short version
- You can read every role page without an account and without giving us anything.
- We only get personal information when you fill in a form or buy Rolesauce Pro.
- No advertising cookies, ad pixels or cross-site trackers. We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
What we collect, and why
| When | What we store | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You ask for the free role report | Your email address and the role you picked | To send you the report and occasional data updates for that role |
| You join the Rolesauce Pro waitlist | Your email address and, on a role page, that role | To tell you when Pro opens |
| You share how you use AI | What you write, your role, your email only if you give it, and whether we may quote you anonymously | To improve our guides. We only publish with your permission, and never with your name |
| Any of these forms | The date and time, the page you sent it from, the first page of your visit, the website that sent you (domain only, e.g. reddit.com) and any campaign tags in the link you clicked (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term) | To understand which pages and channels are useful, so we know where to spend our time |
| Any of these forms | A one-way, salted hash of your IP address with a timestamp. We never store your IP address itself, and the hash is never linked to your submission. Hashes are deleted after about 24 hours | To stop spam by limiting each visitor to 5 submissions every 10 minutes |
| You pre-order or subscribe to Rolesauce Pro | You enter your name, email and card details on Stripe's checkout page. Stripe shares with us your name, email, billing country and postal code, card brand and last four digits, and your payment and subscription status | To take payment, give you access, send receipts, handle refunds and cancellations, and keep tax and accounting records |
Form submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database that only Rolesauce can access.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't build a profile of you, and doesn't track you across other websites. It records things like the page viewed, the referring site, your browser type and your country.
To remember which link brought you here until you submit a form, the site keeps the first page of your visit, the referring site and any campaign tags in your browser's session storage. That is cleared when you close the tab and is never sent anywhere unless you submit a form.
Cookies
Rolesauce itself sets no cookies. Stripe's checkout page sets its own cookies, which it needs to process payments and prevent fraud. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it has to check whether a visitor is a bot. We don't use advertising or social media pixels; if that ever changes, we'll update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Who processes your information for us
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the form database, provides Web Analytics, and protects the site from abuse.
- Stripe processes payments, subscriptions, receipts and refunds. Stripe's use of your data is also covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
- Email: we don't send automated email yet. When we add an email provider, we'll name it here before we use it.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Rolesauce, our users or others. If Rolesauce is sold or transferred, your information may go with it, still covered by this policy.
Links to X and Reddit
Our footer links to our accounts on X and Reddit. We don't embed their buttons, feeds or tracking pixels, so they learn nothing from your visit to Rolesauce. If you click through, their own privacy policies apply.
Where your information is stored
Cloudflare and Stripe may process your information in the United States and other countries where they operate, with safeguards described in their own policies.
How long we keep it
- Emails stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Shared stories stay until you ask us to remove them.
- Spam-protection hashes are deleted after about 24 hours.
- Payment and subscription records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically up to 7 years.
Security
We limit who can access your information and use well-established providers, but no method of storing or sending data is perfectly secure.
Your choices and rights
Every marketing email we send will have an unsubscribe link. You can ask us to show you, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time by emailing [email protected], and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some payment records to meet legal obligations.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, California or other US states), you may have extra rights, such as data portability or objecting to certain uses. We'll honor them. We don't sell personal information, don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and don't use it for automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
If you're in the EU or UK, our legal bases are: your consent (forms you choose to send), performance of a contract (Rolesauce Pro), our legitimate interests (spam prevention and privacy-friendly analytics) and legal obligations (tax records). You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Rolesauce is for working adults. It isn't directed at children under 16, and you must be 18 or older to buy Rolesauce Pro.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects Rolesauce Pro customers, we'll also email them.
